다이애나밴드는 사물, 매체, 상황, 그리고 리듬을 만드는 사운드/매체 작업자(신원정, 이두호)입니다. ‘나’와 ‘너’의 긴밀한 연결과 공감이 가능한 방법과 태도에 대해 이야기합니다.
 
dianaband(Wonjung Shin and Dooho Yi) are sound and media artists who create objects, media, situations, and rhythms. Their work explores methods and attitudes that allow for deep connection and empathy between the “I” and the “you.”
 
 
긴소개 / long introduction
다이애나밴드(신원정, 이두호)는 일상 사물과 풍경, 동시대 사회의 단면과 이야기를 소리로 엮어 이동이 가능한 악기로 만들거나 관객의 참여를 기반으로 공명의 공간을 형성하는 소리환경 작업을 이어 왔다. 사운드 설치, 디지털 매체를 사용하여 관객의 직/간접적 개입 혹은 관계 맺기를 시도하는 연주로서 전시, 퍼포먼스, 워크숍, 강연 등을 진행해왔다.
다이애나밴드의 작업에서 소리는 존재의 환영이거나 그것의 비언어적 해명들 중 한가지이다. 소리는 본질적으로 진동이며, 운동이고, 움직임이며, 따라서, 생명이다. 만일 생명이 아니라면, 그것은 관계적 사건-구조적 장치-이거나 상황적 단서-에너지적 사건들-이며, 관계성, 존재성, 의식의 흐름, 사건과 개입 등을 제시하는 화자들이다.
 
‘dianaband’ is a duo that has been working on weaving everyday objects and landscapes, aspects and stories of contemporary society into sound. They are making portable musical instruments or working on a sound environment that forms a space of resonance based on audience participation. In addition, they have conducted exhibitions, performances, workshops, and lectures that attempt to engage or form relationships with audiences directly or indirectly using sound installations and digital media.
In dianaband’s work, sound is either an illusion of existence or one of its non-verbal explanations. Sound is a relational event-a structural device-or a situational clue-energetic events. Sound is a speaker presenting relationship, existence, consciousness, events and interventions.
