Have you ever watched a parade from outside the procession? The sound of drums and the clamour of the crowd echoes from afar, drawing nearer, enveloping us in its roar before fading away…
«Walking Towards the Flow» is a sound parade that creates a procession of sound within an online space. It gathered sounds sent in by participants to form a virtual procession of sound, open for anyone to join.
 
The path through which sound flows, like the Milky Way where stars make their circuit, remains ever present, flowing whether you hear it or not. The permanence of this eternal parade offers us a final solace. At times, one may feel like a fragment of the cosmos, endlessly circling in satellite orbit; yet the moment it is observed, it ceases to be loneliness or oblivion, becoming instead remembrance.
 
When registering sounds for the parade, you define the sound’s category. Through the categories 1. Flags, 2. Bodies, 3. Objects, 4. Someone, diverse subjects and entities are summoned through sound. To facilitate accessibility and sensory intersection, when registering sounds, you write an audio description and draw a pixel image of the sound to submit.
 
The gathered sounds appear in one direction on the web platform and vanish in another, generated and outputted in real time. When listened to through headphones, the sound provides an auditory environment and experience flowing from right to left.
